Applicants will be considered for vacancies on the basis of suitability, preferred location, relevant experience and discussions. If we feel that they are not appropriate for the programme (for example there may be a mismatch on location, timings or aspirations) then they will be considered for other roles across Balfour Beatty outside the programme or signposted to additional support.
As applicants will be considered for other opportunities, we recommend that they apply even if the programme opportunities are not an ideal fit.
Selection will be via face to face Experience Days across a number of locations linked to the roles and these will require attendance by the applicant. They will find out more about the Company and the MTP, undertake an interview, team exercise and presentation and meet the hiring managers. There will also be colleagues from our Armed Forces Community to share their experience and assist hiring managers with translating attendees’ military experience.
The Experience Days are currently arranged for:
Wed 23 Mar – Canary Wharf
Thu 24 Mar - Newcastle
Tue 29 Mar – Canary Wharf
Wed 30 Mar – Langley
Wed 6 Apr – Derby
Wed 13 Apr – Derby
Wed 20 Apr – Langley
Tue 26 Apr - Derby
Further dates are currently being arranged for the West Midlands. We will be allocating applicants to these events as they apply and candidates will then be expected to conduct research on Balfour Beatty and the careers on offer. We may also contact applicants about other opportunities that would then follow a different process to the Experience Day.
The programme starts in early to mid-May and applicants will need to be available then, although there may be limited flexibility around specific start dates. It may be that applicants need to be aligned to future cohorts.
